Questions people ask

What is the 2026 minimum wage?+

1.221 € gross a month in 14 payments (17.094 € a year). On that pay, a single person with no children has about 3% withheld, thanks to the 43% legal limit.

How much Social Security is deducted?+

6.50% on a permanent contract (4.70% common contingencies, 1.55% unemployment, 0.10% training, 0.15% MEI) and 6.55% on a temporary one, up to the €5,101.20 monthly maximum base.

Is 12 or 14 payments better?+

The yearly total is the same. With 14, each month is smaller but you get an extra payment in June and December (no separate contribution, as it's already prorated into the base).

Why is my withholding different from a colleague's with the same pay?+

Withholding depends on your family situation, children, age, disability and contract type. Tell your employer about changes using form 145.
